Think Inside the Box | Graphic Design Campaign
A graphic design poster that is intended to present a strong stance and call to action on a social matter. Designed for a pitch to Wondros; chosen as top design.
Role – Designer, Co-Ideator (team of 2)
Date – 10/2018
Biggest Challenge – identifying and designing for the correct audience
Biggest Takeaway – how to successfully collect feedback and iterate repeatedly in a design process.
The Think Inside The Box campaign was developed as a social issue practice. Voter turnout, especially among young students, is an extremely important matter to me personally and I wanted to tackle the growing issue during election season.
One of the biggest reasons people slack on registering to vote is because they don’t feel as though their vote matters.
The first iteration of the poster was designed after solidifying a concept. There were a few things I actively chose to do:
-Take a stance on a hot political matter. Although remaining neutral would allow the message to apply to a wider range of people, taking a stance creates a more powerful and purposeful feel.
-As a result, I chose to target a traditionally anti-gun state, California
After finalizing the anti-gun design, I moved onto developing campaigns for other issues.
Currently, I am starting work with the VoteTogether team at Civic Nation. I hope to bring this campaign to the table and launch a more neutral and refined concept.
