In late 2016, my Grandfather was diagnosed with lung cancer. His vitality, physically and emotionally, seemed to melt away a little more each day. Though I have limited contact with him since he lives in China, I distinctly remember how he'd read me stories over the phone when I was younger.
In this video, my father narrates one such story, a Chinese proverb teaching the importance of patience. The story was originally written by Li Bai, a distant ancestor of my Grandfather.
Unfortunately, my Grandfather passed away this year, but his words still live on, in my family, in my life.
